Walk into most furniture stores in Sri Lanka and the choice is binary. Either heavy colonial-style hardwood that takes up your whole bedroom, or imported flat-pack designed for a colder country that doesn't quite work in our heat. There isn't much in between: quietly designed, climate-aware, made for the way young families actually live in Colombo, Kandy, or Galle.
We started Kira to fill that middle.
Mattresses and beds, because that's where the gap is most obvious. Our flagship is the KIRA Sunrise Mattress, a cooling-gel pocket-spring mattress designed specifically for Sri Lankan nights: 28°C bedrooms, 80% humidity, ceiling fans that can only do so much. Our bed frames are designed alongside it: padded genuine calfskin or premium fine‑wale corded fabric, manufacturer-rated to 300kg, in three headboard styles.
Over time, we'll bring the same care to more of the home. We'd rather add a category when it's genuinely ready than commit to a roadmap we can't keep, so we'll announce new ranges as they arrive, each one built to last and fairly priced.
We price honestly from day one: no inflated RRPs, and no fake markdowns dressed up as a deal. The everyday price is one we believe is genuinely fair. So when we do run a promotion, it's a real discount off that real price, not a number we invented just to cross out.
