Why our mattresses are different

Designed for the room it actually sleeps in.

Every mattress we ship was chosen, layer by layer, for one climate: ours. A spill-resistant cool-touch cover that wicks heat and moisture. Gel memory foam that draws warmth away on hot, humid nights. A 5-zone pocket spring core that breathes instead of trapping heat, keeps your spine in a neutral line, and holds firm to the very edge.

Designed in Sri Lanka. Manufactured to our specification by our specialist partner overseas, then quality‑checked before delivery. Backed by a 10-year manufacturer warranty.

What to look for in a mattress in Sri Lanka

Most mattresses are built for cooler countries and shipped here unchanged. In our heat, a few things matter more than the showroom feel.

Cooling that's built in, not coated on. In a 28°C Colombo bedroom, a mattress that traps heat will wake you at 2am. Look for a breathable pocket-spring core and a gel memory foam layer that move heat away all night, not a surface spray that fades after a few months.

Support zoned for your spine. A single-firmness slab dips under the heaviest part of you. A 5-zone pocket-spring core stays firmer under the hips and lower back and softer at the shoulders, so your spine rests in a neutral line.

A firmness you can live with for years. Soft in a showroom and right night after night aren't the same thing. Medium-firm suits most back and stomach sleepers; if you sleep on your side or love a deep sink-in feel, weigh that before you buy.

Value beyond the sticker price. Compare like for like: profile height, the number of spring zones, genuine cooling materials, and the warranty behind them. A 30cm hybrid that brings all three together, from Rs 119,000, outsleeps and outlasts a thin foam mattress that runs hot.

Mattress questions

The questions our customers ask most.

We launch with Queen (150×200cm) and King (180×200cm). Queen is the most popular for couples in standard Colombo bedrooms; King needs a generously sized room. Message us on WhatsApp with your room measurements and we'll help you choose.

Medium-firm, on the firmer side: about 7 on a 1–10 scale. Back and stomach sleepers will feel most at home. Side sleepers still get enough give at the shoulder from the zoned core and gel comfort layer, but if you prefer a plush, deep sink-in feel, the Sunrise will read as firm. Message us on WhatsApp if you'd like help choosing and we'll walk you through it.

The Sunrise cools by design, not machinery. The cover feels cool to the touch as you settle in, the gel layer draws heat away from your skin, and the spring core lets that warmth escape through the mattress instead of building up beneath you. What you notice isn't cold; it's the absence of trapped heat. Less of that 2am stickiness, fewer pillow flips. You'll feel it most with breathable cotton sheets and a fan doing its part; we've written a short guide on getting the whole room right.

The cool-to-the-touch feel is strongest as you settle in. Through the night, most of the work is done by the spring core moving air through the mattress, and that doesn't wear out, because it's how the mattress is built, not a coating. A breathable cotton sheet helps you feel both.

Yes, as long as the slats are no more than 7cm apart. Wider gaps can shorten the life of the pocket springs. All Kira bed frames meet this spec.

Give it at least 30 nights. Pocket-spring beds need a brief break-in period while the foam comfort layers relax and your body adjusts to a new support profile. That's normal and consistent with global mattress industry guidance. If something feels wrong after that, message us on WhatsApp and we'll work through it with you.

Prices for genuine cooling hybrid mattresses in Sri Lanka vary widely. The KIRA Sunrise is Rs 119,000 for Queen and Rs 129,000 for King: the everyday price, with no inflated RRP and no fake markdown. For a 30cm profile with a 5-zone pocket-spring core and cooling gel, it is the most affordable mattress in Sri Lanka to bring all three together.

Memory foam contours closely and isolates movement, but on its own it can trap heat, which is a real problem in our climate. Pocket springs breathe and support, but alone they can feel firm and bouncy. A hybrid combines both: the KIRA Sunrise pairs gel memory foam comfort layers with a 5-zone pocket-spring core, so you get the contouring and the airflow together. For Sri Lankan heat, that hybrid build is the reason it sleeps cool.

The 5-zone pocket-spring core is firmer under the hips and lower back and softer at the shoulders, so your spine rests in a neutral line instead of sagging or arching. Many back and stomach sleepers find that supportive. We describe the geometry, not medicine: if you have a specific back condition, please check with your doctor or physiotherapist about firmness before buying, and message us on WhatsApp for the full specs.
